I thought you might want to advertise to your students the live presentation at the Architecture Foundation 100 day studio (on June 1st and 2nd ) of our Architect / Engineer GSD studio showing how the disciplines come together.  It’s a 1 hour each day and each with different guest panellists  (as in italics below) – they will learn a lot.

Mass Timber and The Scandinavian Effect

Hanif Kara (AKT II) Professor in Practice and Jennifer Bonner (MALL) Associate Professor of Architecture along with 14 graduate students at Harvard University Graduate School of Design return to present ideas on mass timber over two sessions, through the design of mid rise towers located in the American South. The studio titled “Mass Timber and the Scandinavian Effect” tackles questions of the aesthetics of wood and CLTBlanks.  Seven projects completed during lockdown, will be a discussed in conversation with a panel including : Mohsen Mostafavi (Harvard GSD), Katerina Dionysopoulou (Bureau de Change Architects), Kirsten Haggart (Waugh Thistleton Architects Limited) & Sam Jacob (Sam Jacob Studio)
