ASHRAE student chapter
Tour of the EERC mechanical systems

Thursday November 2 at
6-7pm. See flyer below.

The following systems will be toured and explained:
  • Atrium smoke evac system including underground ductwork and operable doors/windows for make-up.  Bonus: smoke control room.
  • Main hydronic piping entrance into the building – lots of pumps and piping.
  • Penthouses on top of each tower – AHUs headered together, various types of energy recovery (enthalpy wheels, run-around loops, etc.)
  • Exhaust fan garden on top of each tower
The tour will be led by Brent Teer with Hensel Phelps. He has been the day-to-day Mechanical lead for the project and knows the ins and outs of all the systems.
This is your chance to ask questions on how it all works!

Following the tour, there will be a pizza social at Varsity Pizza, where you will have a chance to meet and greet with local ASHRAE members and other UT students.
